Pivot Park meets Brainport Eindhoven: Holst Centre

Lunch meeting

We would like to invite you to the first ‘Pivot Park meets Brainport Eindhoven’ lunch meeting on the 11th of November at Pivot Park. By organizing this meeting we want to connect companies at Pivot Park to the competences of the medtech industry in Brainport Eindhoven region. During this meeting, Holst Centre will give a presentation about their Organ-on-Chip proposition. Let’s explore what opportunities for new activities this offers!

An introduction of TNO/ Holst Centre
TNO/Holst Centre is currently developing a proposition aimed at the emerging Organ-on-Chip market, based on large-area (flexible) thin-to-thick film technology (T3FT)- to enable mass-manufacturing of Organ-on-Chip devices. From Holst Centre perspective, we are specifically thinking about enabling Organ-on-Chip functionalities by integration of flexible electronics in standard microtiter assays. At this moment, our focus is still on the technological challenges concerning large-area manufacturing of electronics and fluidic functionalities, whereas on the application side we are still very much involved in getting a clearer picture of the end-users requirements.

In the Brabant ecosystem, between the Eindhoven University Campus, Eindhoven High Tech Campus and the Pivot Park campus, we are looking forward to discussing, validate and sharpen our shared vision on the application domain and market needs, with a clear scope as well to look for opportunities to initiate collaboration in the Brabant ecosystem.

About Brainport Eindhoven
Brainport Eindhoven is home to groundbreaking innovations in the manufacturing industry. A large number of companies and organisations in Brainport Eindhoven are working on high-tech for pharma and biotech developments. This MedTech sector consists of a valuable mix of closely cooperating system OEMs, SME companies in R&D, in design and engineering, services, contract- and component manufacturers, scale- and startups, with close ties to knowledge and educational institutes such as ICMS at TU/e and Holst Centre, the region’s open innovation institute.

Next edition
On the 6th of December, we will organize a second edition of the ‘Pivot Park meets Brainport Eindhoven’. ICMS, the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems of the Eindhoven University of Technology, will share their story.

Hope to see you on the 11th of November!

About the presenter
Auke Jisk Kronemeijer
is Program Manager and Deputy Research Manager Thin-to-Thick Film Electronics at TNO / Holst Centre. After a PhD in Molecular and Organic Electronics (University of Groningen, NL) and a Research Associateship in Organic Electronics (University of Cambridge, UK), his activities have focused on market-driven technology development, with activities in the domain of Water Quality Sensoring (KWR Watercycle Research) and flexible electronics for Flexible Displays, Imagers and Circuitry (Holst Centre). His current responsibilities within Holst Centre entail shaping the process to bring flexible electronics manufacturing and devices technologies towards applications in the (bio)medical domain.

Testing for access (Testen voor toegang):
For physical events at Pivot Park, we work with the CoronaCheck App. Registration for events is required. You can access the event by showing the QR code of a negative test result, a vaccination certificate, or proof that you recovered from corona in the CoronaCheck App or printed out on paper.
