In 2021, IHK Nord Westfalen Münster, Twente Board and Oost NL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a cross-border cooperation and twin city strategy. The signatories highlight the opportunities to strengthen the economic activities and competitiveness of the ecosystem on both sides of the border. MedTech was defined as one of the four strategic topics, including developing and implementing innovative technologies that improve healthcare access and quality.

As part of this cross-border cooperation and as a first activity for SMEs and startups, a networking event will be held in Münster on September 21, 2023. The aim is to highlight the existing potential and expertise of MedTech companies in both regions and thus initiate collaborations and cross-border projects in this field. In doing so, a close connection to healthcare providers, their needs and challenges is necessary. Therefore, healthcare providers get the opportunity to present their challenges from a clinical setting in the event program. In this way, technology developers and healthcare providers can collectively initiate application-oriented projects.
