Introduction

The Health Valley Netherlands Foundation (hereafter: Health Valley) is the number one innovation network within Life Sciences & Health. Through Health Valley, companies, healthcare institutions, knowledge institutes and government agencies meet, connect and strengthen each other. Health Valley organizes events, shares knowledge and innovations of affiliated partners, and creates matches. Health Valley will therefore collect information about you and process the data provided in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation ("AVG").

Health Valley considers your privacy important. In this privacy statement, Health Valley explains which personal data it processes and for what purposes. Personal data is data that may be (in)directly traced to an identified or identifiable natural person. In short, personal data are data that say something about a specific natural person.

Purposes and legal grounds of the processing

The core of the services of Health Valley consists of creating and maintaining a network for the benefit of innovation in healthcare. In order to bring and keep companies, knowledge and health care institutions and government authorities in contact with each other, we need to process personal data. We only process those data that are necessary for the preparation and implementation of a partnership (including invoicing). The provision of services expressly includes the disclosure of partner data for publicity purposes.

When registering for one of our events, we ask the participant concerned for personal data. We use this information to confirm your registration, to keep you informed of the relevant event, to register your attendance and to be able to send you a participation certificate.    .

Relationship management with partners 

We do not provide information of event participants to all Health Valley partners (as mentioned on the website of Health Valley). If you have given us your permission to do so, we may supply the data of participants to a (co-)organizing partner to contact you after the event for the purpose of innovation in healthcare.

Publication of audio and/or video material 

Audio and/or video material may be made during events and/or seminars. You may be recognizable as being present. Health Valley strives to publish this material only as impressions of the event for promotional purposes or for the transfer of knowledge, and not targeted at any individual.

Which (categories of) personal data does Health Valley process?

Health Valley processes the following personal data of its partners and event participants:

  • Basic information (such as name, address and place of residence, gender, company name and/or position);
  • Contact details (such as your email address and/or telephone number);
  • Bank and payment information;
  • Images and/or sound material in which you may be recognized;
  • Other personal data that we receive from or about you or that we may obtain from you.

In most cases, Health Valley receives personal data from you, for example when you or your organization becomes a partner of Health Valley or when you register for an event.

Sharing with third parties

Health Valley may provide your data to third parties for the following purposes:

  • To be able to provide our services (e.g. cooperation with partners and organizing an event);
  • To maintain relationship management with partners in the network;
  • To comply with legal obligations (e.g. registration of a permit for an event);
  • Third parties (including Health Valley partners) involved in the organization of our events (such as organization of location, transportation and catering);
  • External suppliers that we engage for specific processing (such as our IT suppliers or a translation agency). If necessary, processing agreements will be concluded with external suppliers. 

Transfer to third parties

To ensure your privacy, Health Valley aims to process your personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA) as much as possible. Health Valley uses external parties to perform its services (e.g. CRM and CMS) whereby your personal data may be collected, transferred and stored in countries outside the EEA. These external parties have implemented safeguards to provide an adequate level of data protection when transferring your personal data to countries outside the EEA.

Retention period

Health Valley complies with to the legal time limits for the retention of your personal data. Your personal data will not be kept longer than necessary. If you have any questions about our retention period, please contact us.
