Business Metropole Ruhr (BMR) is jouw lokale partner bij markttoetreding in het Ruhrgebied. Hun experts stellen het Ruhrgebied voor aan de hand van succesverhalen van bedrijven die hier al voet aan de grond hebben. Voorbij het industriële erfgoed van staal, kolen en energie bruist de regio nu van de gezondheidsinnovatie. De gezondheidssector is een van de belangrijkste pijlers van het Ruhrgebied. Met 92 ziekenhuizen heeft de regio de hoogste ziekenhuisdichtheid van Duitsland, en met meer dan 371.300 banen biedt de zorg er werk aan meer mensen dan welke andere sector dan ook. Ook toonaangevende onderzoekscentra bevinden zich hier, waaronder de medische universiteiten van Essen, Bochum en Witten-Herdecke. Met ongeveer 5,1 miljoen inwoners is het Ruhrgebied een ideale bestemming voor bedrijven die in Duitsland willen opschalen.
Precies daarom koos de Nederlandse scale-up ResearchManager voor het Ruhrgebied. “Het Ruhrgebied is groot. Er is een hoge concentratie van universiteiten en academische instellingen die betrokken zijn bij klinische trials. Het is een groot deel van de Duitse markt, dus perfect voor ons,” zegt Paul Somberg, Managing Director bij ResearchManager. Met steun van BMR en de economische ontwikkelingsorganisatie van Dortmund vestigde het bedrijf zich in het TechnologieZentrumDortmund, een toonaangevend technologie- en start-up centrum, als startpunt voor hun groei in Duitsland.
Ook Psylaris, een startup met VR-gebaseerde oplossingen voor trauma- en angsttherapie, koos het Ruhrgebied als startpunt voor haar entree op de Duitse markt. Ze legden snel contact met lokale therapeuten en klinieken en kozen voor Bochum vanwege de nabijheid van Nederland, de grote markt, het sterke gezondheidsecosysteem inclusief onderzoeksfaciliteiten. Op de Bochum Health Campus vond Psylaris een slimme health-hub in Quhr, dat jonge bedrijven verbindt met klinieken, zorgverzekeraars en partners uit de psychische gezondheidszorg.

Psylaris took a similar path with their VR-based solutions for trauma and anxiety therapy. They connected with local therapists and clinics, landing in Bochum for its proximity to the Dutch border, robust healthcare ecosystem, large market, and research facilities. At the Bochum Health Campus, Psylaris has found a smart health hub in Quhr that connects young companies with clinics, insurers and partners from the mental health sector.
